About Mitch

After spending his entire life on Indianapolis’ East and Southeast sides, Mitch Gore is a recognized community advocate, small business operator, and public safety professional. Mitch worked hard to keep his family’s Washington Square restaurant afloat during the Great Recession while also attending the University of Indianapolis and marrying his wonderful wife, Brittany. As a product of public schools and a working family, Mitch knows what it’s like to hustle for positive results.

Mitch worked in community development for the City of Indianapolis, working to eliminate blight in our neighborhoods, demolish unsafe buildings, and crack down on slum lords. Now, a Captain with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Mitch is overseeing construction of our new Community Justice Center that uses a comprehensive approach to making our neighborhoods safer. He believes in compassionate policing and knows that the best way to keep everyone safe is for law enforcement to respect the people they serve thereby earning the people's respect and trust.

When he isn’t out in his community advocating for his neighbors, Mitch can be found with Brittany walking their dog, Daisy, and rooting for the Pacers, Colts, and Butler Bulldogs.

Education

Fighting for more funding for our schools, because kids who attend public schools in Indy and Beech Grove deserve just as good of an education as kids in rich school districts like Carmel.

Public Safety

Protecting our neighborhoods from illegal guns and keeping our kids safe from sexual predators while also ensuring local officials have the resources they need to fight violent crime and meaningfully address the underlying causes of criminal activity.

Economic Development

Driving investment in our infrastructure and economy to fill in potholes, get businesses into empty storefronts, and bring good paying jobs back to our community.

Healthcare

Expanding affordable healthcare and taking on the big drug and health insurance companies that gouge us while they profit off the opioid crisis and ever-increasing healthcare costs.

Public Corruption

Holding accountable those self-serving bureaucrats who, through malice or ineptitude, breach the public trust by toughening ethics laws and making the Indiana Inspector General an elected position.

Bringing common sense and selflessness back to the Statehouse
Mitch and Sheriff Kerry Forestal

"There are talkers and there are doers, and Mitch is a doer. He is one of my go-to people at the Sheriff's Office where he's been tasked with overseeing the building of the new Community Justice Center, reimagining law enforcement operations in the age of COVID-19, and helping me ensure our agency is reflective of our community. He does it all very well and I know he'll be equally outstanding as the next State Representative for District 89."

- Sheriff Kerry Forestal

Mitch and Councillor Frank Mascari

"Mitch Gore is the only candidate I trust to step up every single day to ensure our neighbors receive the service they deserve. It's what he did as a third-generation small business operator, the leader of the City's Unsafe Building program, and now as a Captain at the Marion County Sheriff's Office."

- Councillor Frank Mascari

Mitch and Clerk Myla Eldridge

"As your Clerk and the Chair of the Criminal Justice Planning Council, I know Mitch shares my passions for meaningful criminal justice reform and free, fair, and easy voting. I can't wait until he is elected so we can have a dedicated servant-leader representing us at the Statehouse."

- Clerk Myla Eldridge
